How to Make Managing Wordpress & HubSpot Content Easier

Our Blog

One of the reasons we love WordPress is just how flexible it is. This is probably why it’s so popular too. Just in 2016, 75 million websites were using WordPress, with 409 million people viewing 23.6 billion pages each month. And there’s a big reason for that. With the option of adding thousands of open-source plugins, there’s not much you can’t do in WordPress.

But, if you’re looking to manage all of your data in one place, having all kinds of plugins from countless sources can make it hard to tie all of your information together. And if you’re stepping into the world of inbound marketing, and hoping to use the analytics gathered from these plugins directly with your newly-created email list, you really need to use HubSpot to do that.

So how can you get these two platforms to play nicely together so that managing both systems doesn’t become an overwhelming challenge? After all, you want to implement HubSpot into your WordPress site to make your life easier, not harder. What needs to happen to make the blending of these two systems a breeze?

Why Use WordPress and HubSpot Together?

In terms of blog and site creation, it doesn’t get much more flexible or adaptive than WordPress, which is why it’s used by so many different kinds of sites in so many ways. You can create a site that is specific to your brand and your business needs. It’s a wholly-customizable CMS.

But what WordPress doesn’t have that HubSpot does is an unparalleled inbound marketing framework that drives more traffic to your site. HubSpot can attract more viewers to your site, boost SEO, and convert visitors into leads-- and then help you run your email marketing campaign, all in a single one-stop-shop.

What many marketers don’t realize is that you can actually marry these two platforms together to create a smooth, personalized website that works for you. You get to use WordPress as your CMS, and HubSpot serves as your inbound marketing platform. And all it takes is a single plugin.

The easiest way to manage HubSpot and WordPress is to download a HubSpot plugin within your WordPress account. Then, you can add HubSpot features to your WordPress site within the WordPress system.

Installing the HubSpot Plugin Into Your WordPress Account

If you haven’t created a HubSpot account yet, that should be your first step. After that, installing your HubSpot plugin into your WordPress account isn’t much different from any other plugin you add to your website-- and it even comes with support from HubSpot.

(One caveat? Your website must be on the WordPress Business plan. Any other plan, like Premium or Personal, won’t accept the HubSpot plugin.)

You can add the HubSpot plugin to your site directly in your WordPress account, via the website admin dashboard. In the left sidebar menu, navigate to the Plugins option and select Add New, then search for the HubSpot All-In-One Marketing -- Forms, Popups, Live Chat plugin.

Once you locate it, you simply need to Install and click Activate Plugin. From here, you can log into your HubSpot account to begin.

Adding HubSpot Features to Your WordPress Site

With your HubSpot plugin, you can add all kinds of inbound marketing features to your WordPress site-- and manage it all from WordPress, making the combination of the two easier than ever.

    • Forms and Pop-ups: Grow your email list, and have your email list and contact data immediately available in HubSpot for email marketing campaigns
    • Live chats: With HubSpot, you can embed a live chat or chatbot module to your website. Answer customer questions and provide exceptional customer support
    • Email Marketing and Automation: Create perfectly designed email campaigns and send out automated emails to every new lead to engage with customers when they are engaging with you
  • Built-in analytics: Discover which pages and traffic sources are working for you (and which aren’t) so you can focus on what’s working best for your brand
  • Ads management: Create and manage ads-- and establish when the best time for visitors to see these ads so they are the most effective

...And much, much more. The best part of this plugin feature is that you really only have to manage things in one place. There’s no hopping back and forth between platforms, and no exporting contact lists or data to another program. You can do it all in one place, at one time, saving you time and energy.

Creating your website and building your marketing campaign should all happen in one place. And when you use HubSpot within your WordPress account? You are able to do exactly that.
